What's New for 2022
While the Ram 1500 Classic will never likely see significant changes because it wants to remain a low-cost model with workhorse capabilities, it does roll into 2022 with a handful of minor tweaks to better appeal to buyers. The most significant is the availability of a new Tradesman Off-Road Package that adds features such as heavy-duty rear shock absorbers, tow hooks, skid plates, all-terrain tires, and more.
There was also an update to the available electronics package, which can equip the 1500 Classic with the brand's 8.4-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment system that offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Models and Pricing
Hunt Chrysler is a Ram trucks dealer that has a vast selection of inventory from which buyers can choose, including the five Ram 1500 Classic trim levels: Tradesman, Express, SLT, Night Edition, and Warlock. The entry-level Tradesman model starts at $28,440 and offers a Uconnect 3 infotainment system with 5.0-inch touchscreen, heavy-duty vinyl seats, and ParkView rear back-up camera.
The Tradesman offers the best value for drivers, but those wanting a few more high-tech features should opt to pay $39,830 for the Night Edition model, which upgrades the infotainment system to Uconnect 4 with an 8.4-inch touchscreen, automatic quad halogen headlamps, and other black exterior design elements.
Performance
There are two powertrain configurations to provide the capability that pickup truck drivers need. Standard on all models is the 3.6-litre Pentastar VVT V6 engine that delivers 305 horsepower, 269 lb-ft of torque, and 14.8 L/100km combined fuel economy when built with the eight-speed automatic 4x4 transmission. Available as an upgrade on all models is a 5.7-litre HEMI VVT V8 engine that delivers 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque.
The 2022 Ram 1500 Classic is an incredibly capable truck, towing up to 4,813 kg and hauling a max payload of up to 875 kg.
