A car accident can be one of the more devastating events in the course of a lifetime. At the other extreme, a fender bender still presents challenges and issues. There are a number of steps you need to take directly after a car accident, when at all possible.

Following an accident, injuries need to be addressed and EMS must be called to the scene. On a related note, the police need to be contacted as well and a report submitted. Insurance and contact information must be exchanged with the other driver. If there are witnesses to the accident, names and contact information need to be collected as well. A video or photos of the scene should be made.
